An inquiry into belonging

I. Shelter

“Before there was a house, the body was already a shelter.”

The first architecture

I have lived in 19 houses, attended 14 schools and crossed 7 cities.

For a long time, home meant leaving. Walls changed, rooms were left behind, paths were lost — but the body remained.

It passed through every door, slept under every roof and kept what places could not keep: the marks, the affections, the absences.

What remained of each place once that place was no longer mine?

Perhaps our first home was never made of walls. Perhaps dwelling begins in the skin.

It is from this intimate permanence that The Nest Inside Me is born.

II. Passage

To wear
a shelter.

Clothing becomes shelter, a second architecture built upon the skin, made of layers, volumes and recomposed waste that wrap, protect and hold traces of passage.

Shelter in every layer.

III. Permanence

Carrying home
within.

A collection about what we carry when everything around us changes.

VI. Creative process

Before the garment, the idea.

Sketches, visual references and notes reveal the research into shapes, colours and textures behind the making of the collection.

Three fashion sketches in red and pale tones, studying silhouettes and volumes.

Materials and encounters

The pieces in this collection were made with ReTrama fabrics, managed by the Hermann Hering Foundation from repurposed industrial textile waste from Hering.

With affection, I thank everyone who was part of this process.
